Events
Chinbo Collective was founded in 2021 in Ho Chi Minh City by a duo of artists, Nguyen Khoi and Chin.
Apart from exhibitions, we also organize short-term residency projects and experimental workshops, focusing on young artists or art enthusiasts. Our purpose is to provide a launching pad for young artists to develop, organize projects for support and nurturing, and help them evaluate their own ideas and practice art in the early stages of their careers.

Nguyen Khoi and May Bay launched Undergo, an independent documentary production, in 2023. Every year, the two filmmakers will select one artist living and working in Vietnam to produce a film. The initiative was established to introduce artists to the Vietnamese population.
Ô Art Bar proudly presents the group show "Making A Living", an unprecedented fusion of contemporary art and the art of bartending, discreetly nestled in the heart of Saigon. This opening exhibition showcases the multidisciplinary artworks of three talented young artists - Nguyen Viet Cuong, Nguyen Khoi, and Chin - unveiling fresh perspectives and artistic practices to the Vietnamese audience.
Open Studio “AssumptX” includes videos, installations, and performances representing the private experiences of the duo, Quywn and Nguyen Thanh Tung. The felt states and sensations that occur in each individual's mind are things that no one can communicate well enough to share and reveal their experiences with others. Perhaps we can never know whether anyone else experiences something the same as we do. We can only assume.
This open studio served as an experiment to share the duo's private experiences and observe the participants' assumptions, and challenge this communication theory.
Thuc exhibition includes paintings, graphics, installations, photography, and videos created by young individuals, defining and expressing how they see the world and themselves. The self is always changing or having an essence that sets us apart from others. It cannot be certain that a collection of observations will always lead to the same conclusion. We assess and perceive through reason and consciousness.
EAW is an artist-in-residence project organized by Chinbo Studio and Chinbo Collective in collaboration with Ben Doi Creative Studio Street, with the support of Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh, Tran Luong. The project was funded by Modern Art Studio, Coo Production, Salt Bakehouse, and artist Din.
There were eight artists in EAW 2023.
EAW 2022 is a small-scale artist residency project organized by Chinbo Studio and Chinbo Collective, with support from Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh, Hoang Thi Ngoc Hanh, and People’s Teacher Truong Phi Duc.
Participating individuals include young artists, students, and individuals who have never practiced art before. They will have a week to create artwork in a 2-hectare rambutan garden. At the end of the week, their artwork will be exhibited in a one-day exhibition, summarizing what they have created during the residency.
In Your Eyes is a duo art exhibition of the twins Huynh Tuan Huynh and Huynh Tuan De. The Exhibition is about how the artists see the world around them.
EAW 2021 is an artist-in-residence program took place at Dong Nai, Vietnam. Six young Vietnamese artists were invited to stay and create experimental artworks.
We organized a lino print workshop in Sneakerfest 2020, Vietnam. Participants had the chance to try linocut and lino print techniques for free.
