Making a Living

Making a Living

This exhibition showcases the multidisciplinary artworks of three talented young artists - Nguyen Viet Cuong, Nguyen Khoi, and Chin - unveiling fresh perspectives and artistic practices to the Vietnamese audience.

Since its early land reclamation, Saigon has transformed into a melting pot, attracting immigrants from all places and giving rise to its distinctive, bustling urban landscape with cultural intersections and multi-layered, overlapping architecture. In the bustling and rapidly evolving Saigon, ceaseless activities of "making a living" permeate every class and age group and leave their imprints on every object, and corner of the city. Whether it's an aged poster, a modest aluminum table, or a tractor truck, each item encapsulates the perpetual cycle of sustaining a livelihood. This first-ever exhibition at O Art Bar invites visitors to reflect on the materials woven into the fabric of Saigon's collective memory and everyday life, offering a poignant glimpse into the shared narratives of Vietnam.
