The artwork talks about the special feeling when he arrived in the Southeast region of Vietnam and encountered the whole garden of sesbania sesban trees. The moment reminiscent of his homeland in the flood season of the southwest has returned. Sesbania sesban flowers, which are beautiful flowers as idyllic as the souls of dear Southerners Vietnamese, but hide in itself an intense potential vitality, buckling in the harsh sunlight of summer, just waiting for the flood season to come. When the flood comes back, it's blooming, brilliant in a region. However, it not only brings beauty but is also very useful for Vietnamese lives.
Trong vuon chom chom (2021) | In the rambutan garden
Woodblock printing
31,5cm x 49,5cm
EAW 2021 collection

This artwork describes emotions and feelings of love, peace, and happiness in the suburbs of the city. All the sunshine and wind swaying the rambutan leaves gives him a comfortable feeling of relaxation when lying in the middle of the rambutan garden. He closes his eyes and listens to the sound of the wind, the sun, the birds, the chickens and the ducks, the hungry goats asking for food. Then there are some noisy dogs which are the Ruby, the Bear, the Lucky, the Chocolate, and especially the cheeky but cowardly Pomelo. All those idyllic things are encapsulated into the work to present a fresh and emotional garden.
